To Our Harrison Family,

This past Monday evening, we held our annual Reorganization Meeting with the Township Committee. This traditionally includes a little “pomp & circumstance” with the swearing-in of newly elected members and the Mayor/Deputy Mayor roles. This is also a meeting that allows for some commentary from your elected leaders, looking back and forward at what is happening in our community. This year, Committeewoman Julie DeLaurentis was sworn in for her second three-year term on Committee and Don Heim and I were sworn in again as Deputy Mayor and Mayor, respectively.

The unique aspect of this ReOrg Meeting was that it was captured on video as a Zoom meeting, due to the COVID restrictions. Each attendee was on zoom from their home or office. For that reason, we have the ability to share that video with you here, which includes the Oaths of Office and our comments. We were honored to have Senate President Steve Sweeney present, along with our 5th District representatives, Senator Nilsa Cruz-Perez and Assemblyman Bill Moen to swear us into office.

Those relationships are the foundation of our ability to be heard on issues and projects important to our community. We place a high value on those connections, along with our County elected leaders, since we have many projects and initiatives ongoing that impact the entire region. It is the rooted philosophy behind always putting HarrisonF1rst.
