Celebrating Our Successful Events

Thanks to our town's volunteers, Recreation Department and strategic partners, our events are better than ever!

To Our Harrison Family,

On the heels of a successful Celebration on Main last weekend, I think it’s appropriate to say that our township events get better and better every year. The reason for that is very simple: We are blessed in this town with a team of deeply committed individuals and impactful partnerships.

It starts with Sharon Chew and our Recreation Commission, which is made up of resident volunteers. As the township’s Recreation Coordinator, Sharon plays a key role and leads the team when it comes to our town’s events. Sharon consistently credits her group of resident volunteers as the fuel that makes the Rec engine purr.

We can’t mention township events without talking about Dennis Chambers, our Deputy Administrator, and our Public Works (PW) crew. Dennis works with Mark Gravinese, Township Administrator, as they lay out the plans and then our PW team makes it all happen, seemingly with the flick of a switch. Incredible! I want to take this moment here to recognize these township team members and resident volunteers for all that they do for our community.

Our events take flight in a partnership with our great merchants… a partnership that has grown closer and more effective in recent years. And lastly, it’s all about communication! Getting the word out about our events is the key and our partnership with 4SUREFUN Media, who oversee township communications and provide valuable input, has been impactful. After all, what’s a party without guests? We pride ourselves on having the best communications platform of any municipality and 4SUREFUN Media is the reason why.

Most importantly, it’s the “guests”…..meaning our residents…that turn all the work and dedication into these mega-successful events. Your presence, participation and exuberance make the events special and make us who we are.

Thank you to each of you for your contribution, it is a true reflection of the Harrison Strong spirit. It makes all of us who serve this community honored to do so.

Together for Harrison Township,
Lou Manzo
Your Mayor
