A New Jersey First & Honoring Dads

On June 19, New Jersey recognizes Juneteenth for the first time as a state holiday and Sunday celebrates Father's Day

To Our Harrison Family,

This week New Jersey recognizes Juneteenth for the first time as a state holiday. Celebrated every year on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in America. We must learn from the lessons that history teaches us, this day is a reminder of those lessons as well as a celebration of freedom and liberation.

We also celebrate Dads everywhere with Father’s Day on Sunday. There are no words that can express the love of a father and the love that we all have for them. This day honors our fathers who selflessly love and support their children. The one day of the year in which we applaud the dad joke…LOL. On a serious note, to all the fathers, fatherly types in our community and the many who volunteer their spare time for the various township activities. Happy Father’s Day!

Together for Harrison Township,
