What really creates value in a home? It has everything to do with your community’s development, accessibility, and local amenities. It’s places and people like our hometown.
Mullica Hill has grown so much in the last thirty years, especially around our historic downtown. We have an excellent school system and access to top-of-the-line medical facilities. There are always festivals, a variety of events, and great community involvement. We also have an element of diversity – a variety of clubs, events, dance, art, a phenomenal library, and the Historical Society’s incredible exhibits!
Mullica Hill has all the right things that people are looking for in a community. A quaint historic downtown with a good walkability score. Activities for adults and kids; programs, sports, art, fashion, restaurants, bars, wineries, an ice cream parlor, a new coffee-wine bar, fresh farm markets and our incredible small businesses that support the other small businesses! Anything that you could want for shopping – modern home or antique gifts – we have it all.
We are lucky to have great community involvement! People are happy to live here, work here, and volunteer here. A prime example of this was seen during the pandemic where the entire community supported our downtown businesses. When everything else was shut down around us, we still had active commerce because we have such caring residents that want to see everyone in this community be successful. This same compassion translated to helping our neighbors during the aftermath of the tornado. We had an outpour of support through donations, connections, and disaster volunteers. We came together to prove what a strong community we really are.
And a strong community also thrives in the good times. We have small and big events that grow a little more each year, like “Lights on Main,” or “Harrison Township Day”. Being a part of a small community with local business owners gives us a unique opportunity to experience the camaraderie of our little downtown shops. Weekly or monthly events created by our businesses and committee members make it so that we always have something to do in town, and they always ensure it’s fun for the whole family!
People want to live here! When people go to Zillow to find their ideal community, they want a little breathing space and neighborhoods, but they also want to have a quaint downtown. And the accessibility is ideal! We’re close to everything; NJ turnpike, Route 55, I-295 which takes us to a major metropolitan city in less than 30 minutes.
Our community leaders took ownership of trying to create this type of community too. Which contributes to this progress and desirability. But it also has a lot to do with the people that live here. We have the most Gloucester County award winners for Best Of! A lot of our business owners are people that live here, residents like you and me. They invest in our downtown and raise their families here because they believe in it.
The downtown is a major draw to get out-of-towners to want to visit or live here. But once they’re here, they fall in love with it all. I have helped move people out of here only to move them back in again! I’m watching the generations that have grown up here, now starting their families here too.
We’re a rare little jewel. It checks off all the boxes for what people are looking for that ideal home.
