Recognizing Patriot Day in-person and online

We will recognize Patriot Day in-person this September 11th at our 9/11 Memorial site located at the corner of Main Street & Church Street. We will also be streaming the event live on our Facebook page.

To our Harrison Family,

We will recognize Patriot Day in-person this Friday night, September 11th at our 9/11 Memorial site located at the corner of Main Street & Church Street. The event begins at 6:30PM and will last approximately 45 minutes. We will observe the necessary social distancing protocols, so any limited seating will be arranged in that manner. Main Street will be closed to traffic from Mill Road (at The Old Mill) to High Street during the ceremony to provide the appropriate solitude for the moment. It will also allow those wishing to attend in-person the ability to stand throughout the area.

The ceremony will be streamed live on our township Facebook Page and video of the ceremony will be accessible there after the event for anyone to view. In-person or virtually, be sure to share in our community’s recognition of this fateful moment that changed our world forever.

In that same patriotic theme, the local Boy Scout Troop will host a Flag Retirement Ceremony at the Robert Mills American Legion Post 452 located at 141 North Main Street tonight, September 10th at 7 PM. Please bring your old or used flags for proper retirement.Lastly, we are featuring a series of video interviews with Township Committee members to bring you up to speed on what’s happening in town on various fronts. Even during this COVID-induced bubble, 2020 has been a busy year for us. Today, I speak with Committeeman Adam Wingate about a couple projects moving forward that are important to the community. Take a minute (actually 10) to watch that interview.
