It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only a week away. This year will be like no other, as you prepare for your version of the holiday in the midst of the COVID-19 cloud we are all living in. On behalf of my fellow Township Committee members, Don Heim, Julie DeLaurentis, John Williams and Adam Wingate, may you have a safe, peaceful and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday. I believe this year brings a deeper understanding of the word “thankful” as we recognize our cherished relationships with family and friends more than ever. We also acknowledge the reach of that spirit to our community family, which we all love being part of.
Speaking of which, Thanksgiving weekend is always the pivot point to the Christmas Holiday Season and our community’s signature event, Lights on Main. As you know, that extravaganza cannot take place this year, but we recently announced our plans to still give you a reason to be joyous, while staying safe. The Miracle on Main transformation of our Main Street has evolved into something truly spectacular and emblematic of our #HarrisonStrong spirit. Our township leadership team and volunteers have collaborated with our business community to create a Main Street backdrop on Thanksgiving weekend that will be jaw-dropping. And they have done so in a manner that will allow you the option to stroll the street next weekend and enjoy the multiple pockets of activity and aesthetic trimmings while feeling safe and distanced. Take a few minutes to watch my interview with Township Committee members, Julie DeLaurentis and Adam Wingate, as we provide you some insight to our Miracle on Main!
Together for Harrison Township,
